EVERY POST A WINNER! The South Australian racing industry had plenty of reasons to celebrate yeterday. As the industry marked the outstanding achievements of a star three year old Rebel Raider, Thoroughbred Racing SA announced a massive prizemoney increase. "The South Australian racing industry is now financially fundamentally stronger when compared with recent years," Thoroughbred Racing SA Chairman Phillip Bentley said. "It is now appropriate to translate this strength into higher prizemoney and provide incentives for people to invest in our business," he said. Just weeks after levels were lifted, Bentley released the news of a further 24 per cent increase to metropolitan levels, starting in February 2010. The increases start at the elite level, with Group 1 races lifted from $300,000 to $400,000, whilte provincial prizemoney will carry a minimum of $10,000. "It's important that the industry continues to move forward and that each component work co-operatively," he said. "The reward for working together in a positive manner will be continued advancement, both in the prosperity of the industry and further prizemoney increases." TRSA has ensured Super Saturday's profile gains move prominence, with all races run for a $100,000 minimum, including a new provincial series.
